It is rumoured that Sir Gurnsy dûn Albion was born in 1450 in the small village of Eccleshall in Staffordshire. He wears full plate armour in the gothic style (apart from at the chin which is rumoured to be nigh-invulnerable) and has a love of indulging in the Slug Fest in combat; that is, work through every weapon in the armour rack plus any other items to be found on the tourney field. A disputed win at the 1470 Ashby de la Zouche tourney saw Sir Gurnsy take down the last combatant with a two-handed pepper grinder. Favoured weapons, however, are the greatsword "Albion III", two handed mace "Bonker", hand -and-a-half sword, a matched pair of arming swords and axe + shield.

A great fan of ale, Sir Gurnsy is widely known for the infamous Chateau Eccleshall "Old Executioner '47" which he brews on his estate. An interesting note is that the "47" does not refer to the vintage, but rather the number of people who temporarily went blind after sampling the first batch.

Sir Gurnsy does enjoy to dance and also play the mandola & citole with the "Minstrels Of Madness".
